Empty states and no results messages
Empty states happen when a service temporarily has nothing to show the user. For example, when a user has no submissions to display.
No results messages appear in search experiences when there are no results that match the user's search. For example, when there are no results to show for the user’s chosen filters.
Where there are empty states or no results, do not just leave a blank space. Make it clear that there is currently no content to show and help the user with possible next steps.
Find out what users are expecting to do or see in the interface and offer helpful information and links.
Do not mock the user or use informal language such as 'oops'.
